Our History
Founded in the picturesque Shetland Islands of Scotland, Rearo is a second-generation family-run business. The company is managed by Graham Mercer, son of the founding directors Jim and Jennifer Mercer.
Rearo draws inspiration from its natural surroundings. Our island heritage shapes our dedication to sustainable and ethical business practices, which is evident in our careful selection of suppliers who share our commitment to environmental preservation.
The company name reflects our origins. Our longstanding customers may be aware that the 'REA' in Rearo is taken from 'Reawick,' the town in Shetlands where Rearo originated, and 'RO' refers to Rosyth, the location of our first branch.
From its humble beginnings, Rearo has expanded its presence with its current headquarters, a 67,000ft manufacturing facility in Glasgow, and branches in Northampton, Rosyth, Skelmersdale, and Washington.

Rearo is a leading specialist in the supply and manufacture of bathroom and kitchen surfaces in the UK. It is a second-generation family-run business that has operated in the market since 1991.
Rearo has a 67,000-square-foot HQ and manufacturing premises in Glasgow and additional branches and showrooms in Northampton, Rosyth, Skelmersdale, and Washington.
Rearo offers bespoke and off-the-shelf solutions for commercial applications, including wall-lining systems, Rapidfit and Nursery washroom cubicle ranges, integrated panel systems, wash troughs, and solid surfaces.
The company caters to large and small-scale commercial projects across retail, healthcare, hospitality, transport, local authority, and education sectors. Rearo products are specified for major development projects across the UK.
Rearo also serves the domestic market with an extensive range of shower panels, worktops, flooring and other kitchen and bathroom surfaces for your home.
